Plane Trip Around Auckland

 Kia Ora bloggers,

A couple of weeks ago, I got a very, very special award that was about ME GOING ON A PLANE AROUND AUCKLAND!! I was so excited I was about to scream so loud that everybody in the neighbourhood could hear it. Then on Friday 27th of November came when I was ACTUALLY TOLD GOING ON A PLANE TODAY!!

A police officer came to my class to come and pick me up for the trip. I told him if I was allowed to bring my dad's phone with me because he wanted me to take his phone with me on the plane and take photos. The police officer told me that it was alright to bring it. I went with two girls called Mele and Eliza (I think that's how you say her name) that received the same award as me, we got there and Mele and Eliza got to sit in the back while I had to SIT IN THE FRONT. The view from the front was spectacular, I saw tall buildings when we whizzed through the city and I also saw the Emirates Team Boat practising (it kinda felt like I had a remote control on me and started moving the boat). THANK YOU to the NZ police officers who gave me this AMAZING opportunity!!

Here are the photos that I took

Kia Ora Bloggers,

Today, my class and I went to the hall for the Duffy Show. In the show they acted out a play from a book that had a Coggen in it. The story was about how a girl called Bex who got a new pet that was a Coggen called Milly and she showed Duffy her pet, Duffy started to run away from Milly. The Coggen Milly started pooping everywhere and Bex said something to her that made her run away.

The Duffy Show ended and we got our DUFFY BOOKS! My book that I got was called Night Flights written by Philip Reeve

Digital Technology

Kia Ora Blogging World,

Today me and my class went over to Room 5 to have a digital lesson with Ms Jessica.

What I learnt was input which means controlling the device, output meaning the device controlling by itself, process means that the app is loading and storage means the apps and the photos that you store on your device.

What I enjoyed was creating a troll and playing with the buttons on Makers Empire.

What I challenges I had was that I had to match up a old version of something and a new version of something.

I think that we should get Makers Empire because we can create something that is digital and that is 3D and something that we can share about on our blog.

Here are some images...

Kia Orana Everybody,

Today me and my class went to the hall to do some taekwondo. We first started off with running next push ups and sit ups then putting your legs and arms up in the air also we had to do them 5 times. I was so exhausted because we had to do punches and punches up the air.

Something I learnt was knowing how to multiple punches but in the air at the same time

Something I enjoyed was putting my legs and arms up in the air

Something I found challenging was the push ups and then you have to put your hands at the back

These were things that I learnt, enjoyed and found challenging while doing the taekwondo session.

Would you want to learn how to do taekwondo?

Beeswax Wrap

Konnichi Wa Everybody!

Did you know that there is a lot of plastic in the world? In our class we have been learning about plastic that is in the sea and sea creatures eating them. While we were learning about plastic our teacher got us materials to make a beeswax wrap. A beeswax wrap is a reusable cloth that you can use for your sandwich instead of using glad wrap.

It is good for you to use because there is so much plastic that we use and that plastic has flew away into the sea which causes sea creatures to think that is food and die from it.

Now I present to you the instructions for the beeswax wrap and a photo...

You will need:

  • 100% cotton (fabric)
  • Pinking shears
  • Beeswax pellets
  • Baking paper
  • Iron
  • Old towel
  • Cardboard (optional)

Method:
  1. Choose a fabric that is 100% cotton.
  2. Cut the cloth by using pinking shears into a square (30cm by 30cm)
  3. Sprinkle a handful of beeswax pellets onto your cloth (make sure you have 2 layers of baking paper at the bottom of your cloth).
  4. Grab another layer of baking paper and put it on top of your cloth.
  5. Iron your cloth until all the beeswax pellets are melted.
  6. Remove the baking paper from the cloth.
  7. Peel your cloth off from the baking paper.
  8. Wave it until it is dry.

Would you try this out?
See you guys next time, Goodbye!

Multiplication Mashup

Bonjour Blogging World!

Today I am going to be telling and showing you about Multiplication Mashup.

On Wednesday in the Y6's maths class we got to meet students that go to the University of Auckland. What they did was they created a website to help us out with our maths. First, our teacher gave us a sheet that had table charts and equations on them like 54 x 34  or 29 x 32 but we had to watch a video so we can understand what were going to do.

For this session we had to create google slides and show you guys how to do it (but we had to do it on Friday).
